“Full of depth and feeling”. This is how Faustino Catalina defines the Holy Week in Burgos, of which he will be the town crier this 2018. The journalist specialized in religious information has been chosen by the Easter Week Board to open the events of Passion Week with the proclamation that will take place in the cathedral on the afternoon of March 17.

Catalina, born in Adrada de Haza and with roots from his childhood in Roa, assures that the Burgos Holy Week is loaded with feeling. Although his work as a journalist has prevented him on many occasions to live it in first person, he believes that it is necessary to extol and promote all its own peculiarities: “I emphasize the experience of the popular religiosity of the people of Burgos, simple and heartfelt. I believe that the Holy Week of Burgos does not need to look at that of other cities and should consolidate what it has, so that its own values pass from parents to children and its traditions are not lost”.

On the occasion of the World Communications Day, the digital media had a dialogue with the religious journalist on the reality of communication in the Church. During the interview, the figure of Fr. Gago, who was the master of today’s religious journalism, soon came to the fore.
