two lives
In Ghana, the program sought the African reaction to the pandemic in a country practically absent from tourist catalogs, “it is not like Kenya, which lives a lot on safaris, Ghana is a country of people, so to speak, it has a strong slave past, many local tribes,” says Ricardo Sanchez. For Laura Martí, Ghana has been “a discovery and a totally recommendable destination, it is a deeply religious country, there the funerals are equivalent to a meeting of 200 people and, therefore, the restriction that has hurt its citizens the most is the closure of churches. We have also been able to show the contrast of the rural area and the cities, in the countryside the mask is hardly used, unlike what happens in urban areas.”
And then come some 16 or 17 hours of recording that, inevitably, have to be cut down to a program of between 50 and 60 minutes, “we select the best and then Ricardo and the editing team give it television form” comments Arantzazu Fuertes. “I recognize that it is the most difficult part because of everything that has to be left out, besides, each member of the team finishes his or her work and, in a way, I am left alone,” concludes Ricardo Sánchez.

In the new installments, which reflect the yearning to travel and discover new destinations and cultures despite the circumstances, the team is expanded with the incorporation of two new reporters: Eva Rojas and Laura Martí, who join Antonio Montero, Arantzazu Fuertes and Gorka Vallejo.
The program will show the richness of the islands inhabited by the locals, dedicated to tourism, with their incredible hotels and resorts on the water. You will also sail in dhonis, the traditional sailing boats used by fishermen and made of coconut palm; swim among dolphins, sharks and whales; dive into the coral reefs, one of the most diverse marine ecosystems; and delight in its gastronomy, dhivehi, cuisine based on fish, coconut, rice and curry.
